Homeschooling

It has been a yucky day. Naomi woke this morning at 4:00 throwing up in my bed. I was not in there because of Abigail, but Ken handled it very well. Then Ken got sick to his stomach and we all really needed to stay at home so we wouldn't spread whatever we have. We all just laid around and mommy was the main pillow for the babies. Here are a few highlights of this week.

My Mom teaches a sewing class on Tuesday nights and the Tuesday was their final exam for the year. My nephews Jamie and Justin, Cheyenne, and her friend Nicole all take the class. Rebecca my Sister in Law does too but she had a date with her hubby that night. I try to help Mom as much as the kids will listen to me. Naomi also sews when Nanny has time to help her. She begs to every week. She really loves it.
Cheyenne is really frustrated because she is having to take out her seam. Their test was to straighten the crooked edges of a square of fabric and then see how straight they could sew all the way around it. They all did well.
Abigail is learning to climb better every day. I was doing some reading with Chey when we looked over to the desk to see Abigail had learned to climb the chair. Look out Grandma! Here she comes!
Once a month our homeschooling friends at church get together for a day for chapel, crafts, and games. We had our world culture day Thursday. We all chose a country and the kids did a report on that country. The mom's were then to bring food for lunch from thee country the child chose. We were going to do Kenya, Scottie, but we weren't sure we would be able to fix food from there. And I wish we had gotten some of your pictures. That would have been cool. Anyway Cheyenne wanted to do Peru because we had a missionary family on our refrigerator that we support. It was interesting.

Crafts came first and I was in charge of helping the little ones make bells to hang on the door. Naomi was really working hard. Celine and Mrs. Amanda painting.
Naomi sharing her paint with Laurel.
I had to take a minute to slip into the big kids room. Deborah was doing a good job on her gingerbread house. We used milk cartons for the houses so we wouldn't have to glue the houses together and wait for them to dry.

I believe Nicole is eating more frosting than she put on her gingerbread house.

This is Cheyenne's gingerbread house. Complete with a pond. Cute. It was part eaten by the time we even got home.
Mrs. Kim came up with the idea and planned everything. Her sample display was beautiful. We all know she had a good time making this. It isn't all about the kids!
This is how Abigail felt about all of this! Thanks Mrs. Dianne.
Her son Gary attempted the whole gingerbread house. It just wouldn't stay together. It was to hot in that room I guess.

Mrs. Kristi made a beautiful cake for the December birthdays.

Yes, even though Abigail isn't home schooled yet we did celebrate her birthday. She wasn't sure what to do with it though. Elizabeth, Nicole, and Abigail all celebrated birthdays.

Cheyenne is giving her report on Peru. She held up the flag and a map to show where it is located. We didn't make beautiful displays like some others did. Some did, Some didn't.
