GONE FISHIN'

Saturday we went brook fishing with the Carter family. Naomi was so excited to get going they went off together and I just LOVE the previous picture! It is very different fishing than many are used to. You have to sneak up on the bank and just drop in your hook. Naomi had an absolute Blast!! She kept catching them. Ken would no sooner get her fish off the hook and put a worm on it, she would catch another before he got his in the water. I kept hearing the squeals of joy that she caught another one. I tried to fish but Abigail would start screaming. Ken said Naomi caught about 20 fish. Every time I went over to them to get a picture they wouldn't catch anything. Cheyenne didn't want to fish so she stayed up with Aunt Theresa and some others most of the time. That is why I didn't get any pictures of her.
This is some of the family fishing. I cropped this picture to the one above so you could see the ones fishing but I also wanted those who have never been brook fishing to see the whole area.
Aunt Lynnie
Uncle Lawrence
Naomi said she was having so much fun!
Abigail still wasn't feeling good and finally went to sleep before we ate. I would have loved to sleep out there. It was beautiful. Cool in the shade, all wrapped up in a blanket with fresh mountain air blowing over you. It was
Some of the brook trout that we caught.
Theresa and Chelsey manning the fries.
Pops and Uncle Lawrence cooking brook trout that we caught.
Fried Brookie
Aunt Lynnie, Thayne, and Cherith
Thayne Loves his Aunt Lynnie and was going to cry telling her goodbye. Those two are so much alike it is funny.

Naomi and Abigail playing outside. It took a long time just to get her out of my arms.
Naomi loves her sissy.

Reunion

Yesterday was the Carter reunion and it kind of started with breakfast and then we went to the Forth of July Parade in Steamboat. We actually had everyone here for late lunch early supper at 2:00. We had a good time seeing everyone, some we hadn't met and some it has been more than 10 years. Abigail has had a fever since Thursday night and I just keep Ibuprofen and Tylenol in her to keep it down. She may have what Naomi had last week with the sore throat because she won't eat anything. I hope to get a hold of the doctor by Monday to get some antibiotic. We are having a great time. Here are some pictures of yesterday.
Shannon Munday and Tyler cooking.
Ken, Nick, Mark, and Chelsey
Wes Carter and George Tyler, Shannon and Theresa Munday

Abigail
The parade was neat and it started with the skiers on some kind of skates. I had never seen that before.
Abigail fell asleep. She wasn't feeling good.

Mackie Spitelli and his family came over to see everyone because they are like part of the family. With Bob and Mack being business partners all these years, they grew up with all the Carter kids. They live here in Steamboat.

Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Gaylor

Naomi and Braiden played so well together. They were building castles and houses (pretend).
The Carter Clan that was here.

Our Carter Clan

Charith and Cheyenne
We had a good time watching the guys play horseshoes.
If you blow this picture up you can see the Red-winged Black bird diving for Wes's head. He did not like Wes being by the bushes where we think there was a nest. It kept making dives at anyone that got to close with a hat on.

Finally Here Safe And Sound!

We made it!! Everything was fine. The last hour Abigail had had enough! I sat in the back and let her sit beside me buckled in the seat belt. She still wanted out of the car. We arrived around 4:30 our time. The girls jumped out as soon as we got here. Lots of the family is already here and tomorrow is the actual reunion. It has been fun seeing family we haven't seen since we got married. I will post pictures later tonight but wanted to let you know we are here! Thank you so much to everyone that has been praying for us.

A good night sleep!

Wow, does it feel good to sleep!!!! We stopped in a little town before we got out of Kansas last night at a hotel around 11:00 PM our time. It is not very clean and is very 70's style but it had beds! Boy, did it feel good to finally sleep. I slept hard too. I woke up at 7:00 our time, 6:00 here. We are getting on the road in a few minutes but I wanted to let you know we will be at Mom and Dad's around 3:30 their time. The girls can't wait to be off the road. Abigail is sick of her seat. Movies work really good for Naomi. If she has one going she is quiet and does great. I hope to have a good drive today since we have all slept well. I learned some interesting things from my husband on the trip through Kansas City. There we railroad yards all through there and a lot of trains. I tried to get a picture of one of them that I will post later. Well, let's hit the road!

My shift is over!

I drove all night and made it until 6:00 this morning. Ken took over driving and I am trying to sleep in the back with Naomi. IMPOSSIBLE! She keeps poking me and tapping me for things. Abigail has been pretty good but is starting to get grumpy. I have gotten about an hour all together sleep in the last 5 hours. Hopefully I will get some sleep tonight. We are trucking toward St. Louis, MO. Thanks for all the prayers. I didn't get tired at all until we stopped at 6 when all the girls woke up. It hit me when we stopped. Will post later!

Colorado Bound!

Well, Today is the day! I stayed up late last night so I could sleep today. The girls will be at Rebecca's while I sleep today so I can drive all night. Pray for us as we travel. We will not be at Ken's parents house until later Thursday evening. I will try to post some while we are there. So long for now!
